by editor of Firearms Guide - Is there a better way to start your weekend than to get The Exos Gear Bravo Series pack for review on Friday? The preparation for my hiking trip was now much more fun.

Even though it was only a day hike I was trying to fill all 34L of the Exos Gear Bravo Series packspace with extra clothes, water, food, some survival gear and other stuff. You can see most of the pockets in the pictures with this review, but I liked the top front pocket the most. It is easily accesssable for my valuables like my GoPro, smartphone, car keys, handheld GPS, extra batteries an memory cards. I used the bottom front pocket for my watter bottle and that was the only compromise that I had to make with this backpack. Basically, I was missing a right side mesh side pocket for a water bottle that would be handy for a quick sip while hiking. Even though there is a padded water bladder sleeve behind the back panel and between the main compartment that can hold your bladder easily I am an old fashioned guy and I like to have a side pocket for my water bottle.

On the very front of the pack, there are six rows of MOLLE webbing that will allow you to attach external pouches, handheld radios or carabiner, etc. On either side of the Bravo, there are two compression straps. These straps do a great job at keeping the bag low profile when fully loaded or when you have the pack mostly empty. You can also use these straps as a way to carry overflow from the main compartments like rope or outer layers. Even though it was 74 degrees, I didn't sweat a lot on my back because the back panel is very padded and the mesh is backed for extra breathability. This backpack commes in 4 different colors to choose from and my favourite is the coyote tan. The Exos Gear Bravo is one of best looking tactical backpacks on the market.

It is well built and feels really durable. The Bravo is built from full 600D Polyester which is a strong enough fabric for most uses and it certanly is stronger than anything I may need. The zippers are smooth opening/closing and the clasps are sturdy but easy to open. Double stitching gives me the satisfaction of knowing this is one solid backpack. The last sponsor backpack that I got at Shot Show 2 years ago was literaly a joke compared to this one. Lastly, I like the price a lot! Only $37. It's really a great price for what you get.

And now some copy-pasting of specs from Exos web site:

With a 34L capacity per Active Standard (measured in accordance with ASTM F2153) , the five zippered compartments provide plenty of space to secure large tools and gear as well as compartments and pockets to organize small components. The rear most zippered compartment is great for carrying a water bladder as it has an output for the drink tube, or it could be used to carry a standard size 15 inch laptop instead. Built with a focus on quality and functionality, the Bravo’s outer shell material is durable 600D polyester with extra reinforcement at load bearing seams and strap connection points.

Ventilated mesh padding on the shoulder straps and back area provides superior comfort and air flow. Each side has a 3” x 2” Velcro loop pad to attach any standard embroidered or PVC Velcro patch. Internally the compartments feature organizational pockets for securing and separating gear. For security, the cord pulls can be cinched together by zip tie, cord, or through the suspension straps to deter would-be pickpockets. External MOLLE webbing is stitched according to military specifications, with 1″ tall webbing and standard 1″ spacing. This webbing is compatible with MOLLE pouches and accessories, creating the ability for the user to build a fully modular pack system.
