1. Production quality: Olight Olight Baldr S is manufactured superbly. I have had the opportunity to play with several cheaply made laser/light combos purchased on eBay over the years. I regret buying each one of them. On the other hand, the Olight Baldr S is a top-quality product in every possible way. Superbly made from top-quality materials. Great design. Great tech solutions. I could not find a single cheap thing on the Baldr S. Quite the opposite, everything looks and feels like a high-end product.

Dimensions & Design: the Olight Baldr S has slightly larger dimensions (6mm longer) and weight (4g more) than Baldr RL Mini, but it is much smaller than the Baldr RL, making it perfect for concealed carry. With a length of 2.48in (63mm), a head diameter of 1.28in (32.5mm), and a body diameter of 1.42in (36mm) the Olight Baldr S is an ultra-compact combo. Probably the smallest combo that I know of on the market at this time. Mounted on your pistol the Baldr S will stick out only 1.18in (30 mm) below the Picatinny rail of your pistol. That is possible only because the Olight Baldr S has a green laser incorporated in the light of the light and not below the light as Streamlight TLR-8. The laser is positioned just above the LED light so that it is even closer to the pistol barrel or your line of sight when aiming at the target.
3. Light output: the Olight Baldr S delivers 800 lumens and 130 meters of bright white light along with a highly visible green beam for greater accuracy. Maximum runtime on the high mode of 800 Lumens is 1 minute and then gradually steps down to 300 lumens within 2 minutes and stays there for another 39 minutes without the laser on or for 32 min with the laser on. If you use Baldr S in low-power mode of 100 Lumens then you can use it for 140 minutes without the laser on or for 90 minutes with the laser on. We confirmed that the light is strong, the throw of the beam is wide enough and the green laser is also strong and visible.
Using Baldr S is simple. You have to press down the ambidextrous switch on the Baldr S to activate the light. Pressing the side or front of the switch will not turn it on. You can press and hold down either switch for momentary on. The light will stay on until the switch is released. For constant light on, just single click either switch. Single click again to turn the light off. Ant that is all. Simple and easy to remember even in a high-stress situation.
The green laser helps achieve greater accuracy and the easy-to-use switch gives you even more options; white light only, green beam only, or both combined. To switch between those three modes, the user has to move the lever on the rear of the bottom of the Baldr S. You can change modes even when Baldr S is on. The good thing is that the lever is small enough that it won’t protrude outside of the total dimension of the Baldr S and get stuck when the pistol is drawn.
4. Patented Slide Rail Mount: The quick attach and release mount is a simple but effective solution to slide the Baldr S forward or backward on your gun and find the perfect position on your gun. Different guns have different dimensions and our hands are also different sizes but when you easily move the Baldr S and then lock it in the best position that is a great plus. With the Baldr S, you will get a GL Rail Adapter (for Glocks) and Picatinny (mil-std-1913) Rail adapter and fastening screws for enhanced security.

5. Power source: the Olight Baldr S has a built-in 3.7V 380mAh Rechargeable Lithium Polymer Battery that is rechargeable through the signature magnetic charging port on the bottom of the light. Charging is done via the Olight USB cable that has a magnetic head. The magnetic head will stick itself to the Baldr S, start charging and let you know when your Baldr S is charged. The Baldr S can only be charged with the included MCC special charging cable, not compatible with other MCC cables.
