North Haven, CT -(FirearmsGuide.com)- Joining the Mossberg family of field-ready shotguns is the 940 Pro Field Walnut 12-gauge autoloading shotgun.

Designed for durability, reliability and versatility, the 940 Pro Field is based on an updated gas-operating system that can reliably cycle quality factory-made 2.75 or 3-inch ammunition, run at greater cleaning intervals (up to 1500 rounds), and is easily adjusted to fit a wide range of shooters.

Standard features of the 940 Pro Field include oversized and beveled loading port with redesigned elevator and shell catch to allow for efficient and pinch-free loading; new barrel-making process to help maintain point-of-aim and impact; slim-profile forend; adjustable stock for length-of-pull (13 – 14.25 inches), drop and cast; oversized charging handle and bolt release; and anodized follower. And to help battle the elements and reduce overall maintenance, internal parts (gas piston/rings, magazine tube and hammer sear) feature a nickel boron-coating and the return spring plunger is constructed of hard-anodized aluminum.

\940 Pro Field (85154) – This all-purpose 12-gauge features a handsome, dark walnut forend and stock with Mossberg’s signature texturing and sports a 28-inch vent rib barrel with front fiber optic sight. The barrel is also threaded for Mossberg’s AccuChoke™ system and includes Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder choke tubes. Metal surfaces wear a matte blue finish, and the 940 Pro logo emblazons the right side of the receiver. Completing this field-ready package are sling swivel studs; 5-round capacity; drilled and tapped receiver for ease of adding optics; and ambidextrous safety.
