I am, as well as many of you, in constant search for the best light for my handgun. So I started my search, tested several models, and ended up with the Streamlight TLR-7 X in my hands.
The Streamlight TLR-7 X attracted me from the first look. In a way, it was love at first sight. What attracted me was its’ small dimensions. I just don’t like big tactical lights on a handgun, especially ones that make the length of your pistol longer. The compact size of TLR-7 X will also allow you to mount both the TLR-7 X and your sound suppressor on your pistol at the same time.
With full-sized lights, the rear of the suppressor usually hits the light and stops the action from fully cycling. So the TLR-7 X is a suppressor-friendly combo. But the small size of TLR-7 X is just the start.

I am using low rear paddle switches on my TLR-7 X
The Streamlight TLR-7 X is the Multi-Fuel Tactical Weapon Light which means that it can use either any CR123A you have or it can use original lithium-ion Streamlight SL-B9 rechargeable battery that comes in the package with a charging USB-C cable. The SL-B9 rechargeable battery takes 2.5 hours to fully charge and then provides 1 hour of light.
This way you will never have to spend money on one-time-use CR123A batteries again. The Streamlight TLR-7 X also has a “Safe off” feature that prevents accidental activation and saves batteries. It is built from durable anodized machined aircraft aluminum with a black anodized finish or Flat Dark Earth (FDE) finish and it has an IPX7 certificate so it is waterproof to 1m for 30 minutes.
One of the most useful features that all of you will like is that you are provided in the package with interchangeable ambidextrous rear paddle switches that are easy to swap out with the provided multi-tool. That way you can choose between high or low options and find the one that fits perfectly your grip style.
Provided key kit will have right key for your gun for sure. They works on 90% of modern guns.
MOUNTING: The Streamlight TLR-7 X has a rail clamp system that securely attaches/detaches quickly and safely with no tools and without putting your hands in front of the muzzle. It securely fits a broad range of guns from S&W, Colt, H&K, CZ, Springfield, and many more. To securely fit it to most guns on the market, the TLR-7 X comes in the package with the key kit with 10 different keys (1913 included).
The SigSauer SP2022 looks fantastic with TLR-7 X mounted.
STROBE: The strobe function is OFF in the factory setup so to turn it ON you have to quickly press one pedal 9 times and then keep it pressed for 2 seconds for the 10th time. In the same way, you will turn strobe mode off. Once you turned strobe mode on, you can press & keep presure on your rear paddle switch and you will have a light on but if you tap it twice fast it will be in constant strobe mode.
Red LED light is ON while you charging your rechargeable lithium-ion SL-B9 battery. The battery and USB-C charging cable are provided in the package but if you loose battery you can use any CR123A battery or another rechargeable battery; and if you loose charging cable you can use any USB-C cable. Practical and affordable. This thing is built to last.

CONCLUSION:
The TLR-7 X is everything that I like. A light, small, compact, well-designed, and powerful light for my handgun. It looks great. It is simple to operate, It is rechargeable. It can use any CR123A battery. To recharge the provided battery you can use any USB-C cable and not some original design charging cable that if you lose you can never charge your device again. I also like the fact that the battery is not built-in so when it loses capacity I can always buy another and keep my Streamlight TLR-7 X light.
