Melbourne, FL (FirearmsGuide.com) - The groundbreaking and patent-pending STEP-22™ (Strategic Target Engagement Pistol) Monolithic Pistol Receiver from FightLite® Industries represents a technological breakthrough that sets it apart from all other pistols in its class.

Designed to readily interchange with the standard receiver on all popular RUGER® Mk-I®, Mk-II®, Mk-III® and 22/45® pistols without any tools or gunsmithing required; the STEP-22™ provides users with an incredibly lightweight and accurate pistol capable of accommodating lights, lasers, optics and accessories on monolithic rails that won’t shoot loose during use. Manufactured from high-strength American aircraft alloys and featuring a tensioned barrel with precision-cut .22LR Bentz Match chamber, the STEP-22™ (Strategic Target Engagement Pistol) delivers MIL-Spec level of manufacturing quality and unrelenting accuracy and performance to its users.

The STEP-22™ begins life as a section of certified, US produced 7075-T6 aluminum billet that is inspected and processed on Mazak CNC turning and machining centers into a precision monolithic chassis that accommodates its internal parts. The MIL-STD 1913 “Picatinny Rail” is the standard optic and accessory mounting interface used by all US Armed Forces and all NATO countries. Accordingly, it was selected by the FightLite® team for inclusion in the STEP-22™ design specification to maximize compatibility with current optics and accessories. A full length MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail is machined into the monolithic receiver body at the 12 o’clock position for the precise mounting of modern optics and sights. A shorter MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail is machined at the 6 o’clock position to accommodate lights, lasers and other devices. After machining and final quality inspection, each STEP-22™ receiver is then hardcoat anodized to a non-reflective black, MIL-Spec MIL-A-8625F finish for maximum corrosion and wear resistance. After anodizing, each STEP-22™ receiver is again inspected for maximum quality assurance before being assembled into a finished product.

The STEP-22™ barrel is precision machined from a button rifled, ordnance grade 4140 Chromoly steel barrel blank with a rifling spec of 1:16 Right Hand Twist to handle most common .22LR projectiles. A match grade .22LR Bentz chamber is machined into the STEP-22™ barrel to provide reliable and accurate semi-auto function. Once the barrel manufacturing process is finished, it is installed and indexed into the STEP-22™ monolithic receiver before being precisely drawn into tension by the barrel nut. The tensioning process reduces vibratory harmonics that can negatively affect accuracy in lightweight barrels during firing. This combination of a lightweight barrel with a match grade “Bentz” chamber and precise tensioning deliver match accuracy in an extremely lightweight package.

The STEP-22LS™ barrel is precision machined from a button rifled, ordnance grade 4140 Chromoly steel barrel blank with a rifling spec of 1:16 Right Hand Twist to handle most common .22LR projectiles. A match grade .22LR Bentz chamber is machined into the 2.5” long, un-ported STEP-22LS™ barrel to ensure most High Velocity .22LR ammunition remains sub-sonic, while providing reliable and accurate semi-auto function. Once the barrel manufacturing process is finished, it is installed and indexed into the STEP-22LS™ monolithic receiver before being precisely drawn into tension by the barrel nut. The tensioning process reduces vibratory harmonics that can negatively affect accuracy in lightweight barrels during firing. This combination of a lightweight, un-ported barrel with a match grade “Bentz” chamber and precise tensioning deliver match accuracy in an extremely lightweight package.

Installation of any FightLite® STEP-22™ monolithic receiver on a RUGER® Mk-I®, Mk-II®, Mk-III® or 22/45® pistol is easy and straightforward with no gunsmithing required. Simply follow the unloading and disassembly instructions specified in the RUGER® manual for your pistol. Once disassembled, set your RUGER® upper receiver aside and reassemble your pistol with the FightLite® STEP-22™ monolithic receiver assembly using the original RUGER® bolt and trigger housing from your pistol. It’s that simple!
